Viceroy Bali Marks 20 Years of Timeless Luxury with a Series of Celebratory Events

Viceroy Bali Marks 20 Years

In the lush folds of Ubud’s Valley of the Kings, Viceroy Bali has spent the past two decades shaping not only a sanctuary for discerning travellers but also a community rooted in culture, family, and care. This September, the family-owned resort marked its 20th anniversary with a series of events that celebrated heartfelt hospitality, enduring partnerships, and a legacy deeply intertwined with Bali.

The name Viceroy was chosen to reflect majesty and leadership, echoing the regal surroundings of its sacred valley. Since opening in 2005, the resort has become known not only for its refined pool villas, fine dining, and wellness offerings, but also for its Balinese spirit, blending timeless luxury with the rhythms of place and people.

A Month of Celebrations

The anniversary month began with quiet but meaningful gestures close to home. A blood donation drive and a team outing recognised the people who have made the resort thrive for twenty years. Twenty-nine employees have been with Viceroy since day one, and eighty-six others have given more than a decade of service, growing their careers within the Viceroy family.

Viceroy Bali-Dinner

On 12 September, celebrations reached their peak with a Gala Dinner at Apéritif Restaurant. One hundred and twenty distinguished guests including partners, travel agents, media, suppliers, long-time collaborators, and members of Ubud Palace and local government gathered for a night of elegance. The evening opened with a cultural performance beside the infinity pool, dancers moving with the same grace and loyalty that have long mirrored the Viceroy story. Guests were then invited into Apéritif for a four-course degustation menu curated especially for the occasion, woven together with heartfelt speeches and personal anecdotes from the resort’s owners.

As part of the evening, Viceroy Bali partnered with the Bali Children’s Project, encouraging guests to contribute to education programs for underprivileged children, a cause that reflects the resort’s commitment to giving back to the island it calls home.

After dinner, the celebrations carried on at Pinstripe Bar, where crafted cocktails, live music, and warm camaraderie filled the night, embodying the sense of togetherness that Viceroy has cultivated for two decades.

Honouring People and Community

The anniversary month continued with a Team Awarding Ceremony on 18 September, recognising excellence across departments and shining a light on the individuals who have carried Viceroy’s vision forward. The celebrations will conclude with a charity visit to a local orphanage, once again underscoring the resort’s long-standing commitment to community.

Beyond its team, the anniversary also honoured the loyal guests who return year after year, many of whom have become part of the extended Viceroy family. Their stories, relationships, and presence have shaped the spirit of the resort as much as its architecture and design.

A Gift for Guests

To mark the milestone with travellers, Viceroy Bali has introduced a 20th Anniversary Celebration Offer. Guests staying a minimum of three nights are invited to choose a daily gift from the “20 Treasures Box,” a collection of experiences and keepsakes that embody the spirit of discovery and luxury at the resort.

Looking Back, Moving Forward

“Over the past 20 years, Viceroy Bali has grown not only as a sanctuary for travellers but also as a family with enduring ties to Ubud and Bali’s cultural heritage,” said owners Anthony and Amanda Syrowatka. “These celebrations are as much about our guests and partners as they are about our team and community, who have been instrumental in shaping our journey.”
