Food ads tempt people regardless of the age to gulp down fast foods. It is not wrong to have once a while, but having fast foods frequently has a fast effect on your health. There are threads of ridiculous food stories, yet, the silly mistakes and the stories that are classic keep pulling around the dining area.

Food is the actual fuel for the body. It certainly has a direct impact on the way you feel and also on the overall health. Filling your diet with junk food results in an array of problems and this is because the junk food is always high in everything it has, calories, fat and sugar, but provides hardly or very few nutrients. However, you can treat sometimes to ice cream or some candy bar, yet keep the portions to a minimum.

All said and done, you want now to know if fast food is really very bad. It is not necessarily bad but is processed with calories featuring no nutritional value. As fast food replaces nutritious foods, it results in poor health and poor nutrition. This leads to an overweight risk factor and includes chronic health problems such as stroke, diabetes and heart disease.

Now with the holiday season coming, it is time to celebrate memorable time with friends and family. Regrettably, it also has become a time to gain weight due to over-eating. The holiday eating resulting in gaining extra pound really adds up. So, focus on healthy food, good activity and have lots of fun. Considering healthy food doesn’t mean you have to starve for food. Implementing a few simple tips even helps you enjoy the holiday season and stay healthy.

Tips for Healthy Eating in Holidays

  1. Have a realistic approach. During holidays maintain your current weight and DO NOT try losing pounds. This will make your holiday time bore, so just ensure the weight doesn’t add.
  2. Exercise is a must to relieve weight gain and holiday stress. A daily moderate exercise helps to offset any holiday eating increased levels. Even brisk walks for 10-15 minutes twice a day will show you the result.
  3. Concentrating on weight is good, but DO NOT skip meals. Eat light snacks such as raw vegetables, a fruit piece or also follow a paleo diet that includes more fresh fruits and vegetables. This will keep you from being over temptation.
  4. Survey the party buffets, choose your preferred foods and fill your plate. Include fruits and vegetables and keep your plate balanced.
  5. Avoid beverages. This is because alcohol reduces inhibitions and results in inducing overeating. Instead, go for non-alcoholic beverages.
  6. Eat until you are satisfied and remember not stuffed. Savour your holiday treats by eating small portions, even if it is your loved choice of food.
  7. Desserts can be had but ensure that it has fresh fruits and avoid fattening items.
  8. Enjoy the holidays, incorporate healthy recipes, plan your activity and do not restrict yourself from the food and activities that are your favourite, as this is your holiday time
