This island, which is located west of the island of Lombok, is a tourist destination that should not be missed. There are 3 Gilis that are the highlight of tourists’ vacations, namely Gili Meno, Gili Air, and Gili Trawangan. Gili itself means “Small Island”. The impression of these three islands is different. Gili Air has the impression of a Chilled Island, Gili Meno is a Honeymoon Island, and Gili Trawangan is a Party Island. Among the 3 Gilis, Gili Trawangan is the largest and most popular.

Heading to Gili Trawangan

It takes more than 1,5 hours by fast boat from Padangbai Harbor in Bali and dirrectly arrives at Gili Trawangan. Another alternative is through Benoa Harbor at a rate of IDR 500K

For a more affordable option, take a ferry from Padangbari Harbor to Lembar Harbor on Lombok Island. But the duration of the trip will be longer, which is about 4 hours because from Lembar Harbor to cross to Gili Trawangan, you have to go through Bangsal Harbor first.

No motorized vehicles

Although Gili Trawangan is the largest island among the other 3 Gilis, in fact, Gili Trawangan has an area of ​​​​about 3 x 2 kilometers. The local people make local rules to eliminate motorized vehicles on Gili Trawangan to avoid pollution.

To go around the island to see its beauty, the local people provide Cidomo (traditional vehicle) and rent bicycles.

One Cidomo can usually carry 3 to 5 passengers. Cidomo fees are variable depending on the route chosen. On average, it costs around IDR 40K to IDR 75K. Meanwhile, for rates around the island with Cidomo, the price range starts from IDR 125K.
