the second installment of its highly anticipated Guest Chef Series. On Saturday 22 nd of July,
Chef Dave Verheul from the renowned restaurant Embla in Melbourne will be taking over the
kitchen.

Bar Vera, brought to you by the team behind the Bali Institute Mason aims to bring an
authentic neo Parisian dining atmosphere with contemporary vibes to the emerging
Pererenan area. Inspired by the popular neighborhood bars and bistros of Europe, Bar
Vera invites chic patrons to unwind with friends over good food and drinks.

The Guest Chef Series at Bar Vera is back by popular demand, bringing talented chefs from
international backgrounds to Canggu to take over Bar Vera’s kitchen for one day only.
Head Chef Keir Ballantyne and his team are looking forward to the anticipated arrival of Chef
Dave Verheul for the Guest Chef Series. Hailing from the renowned Embla in Melbourne,
Chef Dave’s cooking showcases small plates of wood-fired and fermented delicacies.
With a loyal local following and widespread critical acclaim, Verheul’s culinary journey includes the
likes of the Matterhorn in his native New Zealand, the opening of The Town Mouse in
Melbourne in 2013, followed by the highly anticipated Embla in 2015. Additionally, Verheul
started Saison Aperitifs in 2020, specializing in high-end seasonal vermouth and amari,
which was voted the best vermouth in Australia in 2021.
Firmly established as a leading chef and winemaker within the Australian culinary world,
Verheul’s approach celebrates the integrity of produce with a distinctive style characterized
by thought, detail, balance, and purity of flavor. Chef Keir Ballantyne expressed his
excitement, saying, “Having had some incredible meals at Embla during my time in
Melbourne, we are looking forward to creating that experience for our guests here in Bali.”
This Guest Chef Series will feature a chef’s menu priced at IDR 680,000 per head with an
