Bestowed with the beauty of nature, Bali has numerous hidden attraction that waiting to see including a myriad of waterfalls. This week, we are trying to explore the Nungnung waterfall in Pelaga Village, Petang, Badung Regency. About 45 minutes driving with motorcycle on normal traffic condition from Denpasar. If we come from the south or Denpasar, we can see the enchanting natural beauty, interminable of rice paddies. Most of them are using terraced fields, that has been used as an integral part of local agriculture for years. On the other hand, if we come from the north or Buleleng Regency, we will encounter the yellow of Marigold fields. So stop by, as the fragrance was so refreshing and the landscape is picture-perfect.
The exotic Nungnung waterfall covered by lush greenery jungle and from the parking area we need to walk for about 30 minutes, go down and up from hundreds of stairs, before finally arrived. The bird’s song come along with the sounds of the beetle and the roam of the water as we start to walk. The breeze that comes through the cliff and jungle will gives us a calmness.
Two years ago, Nungnung waterfall has yet to be fully exploited. This condition has made local authority put more concern about the natural tourism and the access to go to waterfall are getting better by now. This makes Nungnung on the spotlight as many tourist come to this place and not only to spend for vacation, but also to get a prewedding photo backdrop. The water was so clear and splendid. If we are lucky enough and the sun rise steadily, we can see the rainbow on the top of the cliff. Nungnung waterfall has one way water flow and about more than 50 meters tall. We cannot resist to soak in the water and took an instagramable photo on this place once we already arrived. Basically, this waterfall come from the water source in mountainous area nearby. The water then flow and at the downstream fall and this formed the waterfall.
In addition, the Nungnung waterfall has also a beautiful scenery of highland and many tourist come to enjoy with the swing and a cup of organic coffee nearby the entrance. However, the toilet still need improvement and better for us to carry on our toilet tissue while we visit.
